I have heard great things about Slee, but I am in Arkansas, so that probably is not an option for me at this point. Just curious, did the remove all of the AHC components or just cap the lines off?

I don't know where you live but I drove from Las Vegas to Golden Colorado to have Slee Off-road do my OME with the Slee differential drop plus Slee rock slider steps. Could not be happier, plus Slee knows what they are doing so no problems. Funny what a difference 2"s can make :)

Got any pics of your truck after the Slee work?

They removed everything, even the light on the dash and where the switch was on the console they put in a sunglasses holder looks perfect OEM job.

Hope this helps, my LX is level if you can't tell by the pic. And I am running 33" Michelin LTX M/S2's

I think my thread has been hijacked! :-)

It would be great to replace with an OME suspension however I don't feel it is necessary on a vehicle with only 90k miles.. I fail to believe the AHC system is this weak.

Another gem from the dealership service dept..When I had them pull the neutral pressures I asked that adjustment to the torsion bars be made if needed.. They told me "there is no procedure to adjust torsion bars"..

I'm going to trade this thing in soon.. four months I've had it and can't solve this AHC issue.. so annoyed

If your problem really is intermittent that suggests that it is electrical. Maybe a bad ground somewhere or a bad selector switch?

In the off position the system would ignore the switch and most of the sensors. In the on position it would be trying to adjust...maybe something is shorted and pulling the damping actuators to max that gets cut out of the circuit when off. Could be one of the height sensors or the selector maybe is haywire.

I guess I would unplug, clean, and replug all of the sensors and switches. There aren't all that many.

If it were a sensor or some other electrical fault I imagine there would be error codes? There were no stored codes when I had the vehicle neutral pressures checked.

Just a suggestion before you throw any $$ at you AHC with new parts look at replacing with a 2" OME lift. That is what I did love the outcome and no more AHC expense, plus you end up with a better looking tougher LX.

Are there any concerns with stability control or any safety systems when swapping to OME suspension?

It's not weak but when it starts having problems the dealer will kill you on parts and labor. Find a LC specialist shop in your area that understands the AHC. If you do some searches you will see where others have spent thousands of dollars chasing problems with the AHC, others roll up their sleeves and by tools and learn how to fix it and maintain it themselves. I spent a couple of grand and fixed it one time with what I consider a better solution. The service manager and one of the service advisors at my Las Vegas dealership switched to OME versus deal with their AHC and they got their parts and work done at cost.

SWUtah, your car might be level, but it is also up-side-down. :-)

Alright, I ordered two cans of Toyo AHC fluid. I'm gonna see if flushing the system does any good before I start taking things apart...I'll follow up on here w/results.

I'll be eager to see what results you have.

Same here.

I've done all but check the sensors.. If the sensors look OK I guess it is time to just pull the AHC out or trade the vehicle. Probably just trading this in for an LC, which I should have bought in the first place.

Did the AHC flush this morning. Pretty easy process. Haven't driven much since, just around the block, but couldn't tell much difference. I'll be able to tell better when I get it out on the road. I believe my rear accumulator diaphragms are ruptured. Flushed all four corners down to the bumps numerous times. Ran them all until I had new, pink fluid coming out. The fronts looked good, but even after getting pink fluid out the rears, it was still foamy. Leads me to believe that air from the accumulators is leaking into the system. Bummer, looks like I'll probably look into an OME set up when I get some tax moneys back.

I believe that seeing some foamy fluid after the flush procedure is a normal result of the inrush of fluid suddenly entering the tank as the vehicle readjusts its height. It's the last thing that happens during the process of raising itself back up.

OP, did you ever resolve the harsh ride. Ours is fine on large bumps/dips, but harsh on the small ones.

Mine is the same, I have about 7 bars of fluid movement on my tank. I believe after you try changing fluid, checking pressures, adjusting TBs and replace rear springs, the accumulators are the last stop. I'm hoping my ride gets real bad around the time it's time for new tires and then I'll talk myself into a lift with all the money I'll save by not buying accumulators.
