Technical content: my AHC pressures are 6.7 and 7.1 today. What are yours?

My Hundy has served me well. It allowed me to park the M5 I had at the time during winter in the Denver area. It helped me move my mom to OR from FL by hauling a bunch of her junk in a 16x8 enclosed trailer. It then allowed me to leave OR with my stuff in the trailer and hang out in NM before I got my job in Dayton and bought my house. I picked up a 2017 Chevy Bolt for job and local commuting. The Bolt is perfect for my lifestyle.

It's an 01 LX with perfect AHC, next to no rust (nothing some sandpaper wouldn't solve), 205k miles, and runs like a top.

However, it is due for fluids/filters/plugs and a bunch of squishy bits.

I drive it once a month, probably less, as it sits on a trickle charger charger in the garage. $600 in snow tires and the Bolt can handle any Dayton weather.

Would you keep it or cash in on current high prices? It's esenially a rust free rig in the Rust Belt that would sell easily.

If you're specifically thinking about selling it because of the high prices, I'd still hold on to it. As far as I've been seeing, there's still a massive chip shortage that's limiting the production of new Toyotas, and that's going to help the prices of the used market for a while.

Do you still have the M5?

M5 was sold last year as a precursor to moving my mom.

Keep it. Need something fun to drive. I dont see the Bolt falling into that category.
Or sell it, take the proceeds buy two K cars and Frankenstein them in to one AWD K car🤦 wait thats been done.

If you are still passionate about it, keep it. If not, sell it. I wouldn't let the the DIY items pending intimidate - they aren't hard.

If you elect to sell it, let me know what you want for it. And buy a cell phone that works.

My friend just sold his hundred series and already regrets it. Now he is looking at Tacomas LOL

Don't do it, you'll regret, esp if yours is running well and rust free. Just drive the Bolt and have a couple fire extinguishers ready.

I vote you sell it to @MJK so he can have all the fun :flipoff2:

Is there a financial need to sell it? Would minimal maintenance and storage costs be a hinderance? Would the cash from the sale put you in a better spot financially?
The value isn't going down anytime soon so if you don't need the money for other things, and you have the space to store it, I'd say keep it. The 2k or 3k miles you drive it each year won't require much maintenance which means you could probably put off the squishy bits for quite some time. It all comes down to disposable income and need. Just don't let the hot market make you sell something you otherwise would keep.

In 2012, I sold my rust free, factory triple locked, excellent condition 1997 LX450 because I didn't have the money at the time to fix an impending engine issue. I've regretted it ever since. I should have just held on to it until I had the funds to fix it.

Don't be this guy :)

i am that guy, don't be me. I ended up buying another LX but not as clean and needed more work, so i'm back to square one and wasted a whole lot of time and more money :)

If you dont drive it or use it for Wheeling / 4wd trips what is the point? they are not cheap to own, slow and bad MPG. That said, I love mine and Daily it (10 miles commute)

I was recently going through the same dilemma. Don’t know if you remember reading my thread….
In talking to soooo many people-one mechanic I ended up talking to told me save the truck no matter what. He said to put it in my garage even if I wasn’t going to drive it. I truly believe prices will continue to appreciate.
If you truly need the money I get it. But if not I think you’ll regret it once it’s gone.
I had to step away a while and really think about it. I’m glad now I decided to keep the rig! Let us know your final decision! 😃

I say sell it ASAP and put in your order for the new electric Yugo car. It’s called the eGo.

p.s. How much you want for the hundy?
