Took my car to Mudrak's to have the AHC Suspension replaced with a Medium Load OME Suspension. I have to say I am completely thrilled with the work. I originally started looking into a different suspension due to issues with towing a 3,000 lb trailer with the vehicle fully loaded with family, dogs, etc. While there is great improvement in this area the part that amazes me the most is the improved handling of the vehicle. I would say that the ride is slightly stiffer than that of the AHC in the sport mode. I would highly recommend Mudrak's for any work you may want to do on your Cruiser if you live in Northern California.

Next Steps are new sliders and new front and rear bumpers.

Below are pictures before, after lift, and after switching tires to 33" BFG AT.

Looks good! Just curious, did they leave the AHC components in or strip 'em out? Btw, what rack system are you using?

They stripped all of the AHC components. I now have a large open space under the hood that will be a wonderful place for a 2nd battery once I get around to it. It took the mechanic a couple extra hours of work to remove everything. Additionally, they disconnected the lights on the dash so you can no longer see the information display for the AHC system.

The rack system is a Yakima system attached to the factory rails. Nothing special.

SDTrux in San Diego removed my AHC for me as part of my Slee Heavy Load 2.5" Lift Kit installation. They are the same guys that did Darby's 100 project as described in 4WD Toyota Owner Magazine. I am very happy with their work - I asked them to remove the major components but they didn't think it was "right" to leave the hydraulic lines in so they pulled them at no extra charge. I can now get the regular rock sliders for the truck :D. Here's what came out. Pics of my Phase 2 project will be posted when I get the new tires.

Nothing like a bunch of useless parts on the floor:)

Steve, your truck would be a good candidate for the "Featured 100". see more info here https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/144673-featured-100-rules-full-line-up.html
