I'm seeing features for the newer lc 200s of electric tailgate opener and a soft close bottom tailgate feature... Is there an aftermarket option we have to install these features on the lc's that don't have it?

The motorized mechanisms and electronics are going to be pretty hard, and expensive to retrofit.
The soft open damper spring has been retrofitted.
I'd imagine you could find a junkyard LX570 to find all the parts from (all years of the LX 200-series had this). Unless you're looking for a very involved project, it's probably not practical.
It is awesome, especially when the car is lifted in an off camber spot and the hatch is hard to reach.

Man, how do I get just the foot sensor?
You can buy the soft close tailgate dampener from a guy in Japan on eBay. There’s a thread on here how to install it.

Thanks for the Japan tip. Was about to pay twice+ the price at a local dealer for the same dampener. Hinge is cheaper to get local after shipping.
