Last time I quote a Scheel-Mann seat was close to 4K I must have done something wrong ..

Yeah I priced one out and it was close to $4K for me too. Not sure what I did wrong too.

I might be importing some Recaro expert seats in the next container . I used those 20 years ago already and feel that they are just as good and fit me even better then the Scheelmann seats I put in my troopy . I feel that the Scheelmann’s are a little bit hyped up to much these days , they are good seats but there are better alternatives at a lower cost .

When I saw that scheel-man seat you got during that one time I met up with you in Austin to get some parts from you, I wasn’t that impressed to be honest (for the price).

I've done a few Scheel-man and Recaros in many different vehicles.

The entry level Recaros are ok. Considerably better than the factory 7x seats. The Scheel-man Vario-F are good. I found that they sit a little high than other seats. They are a great option for a 70 with all the headroom available.

My favorite seat is the Ergomed seat from Recaro. I can drive for days without feeling tired. It's in my 60. It's just a great seat all around. Kinda heavy and pricey. But with all the available adjustment. It's really difficult to find another seat that can do better. The one thing I would recommend. Is to find a fabricator in your local town/city who can dial in the height for you. It's really important to get your posture correct especially for long drives.

The factory seats in the 70 are what we call (delivery) seats. They are there so that logistics people can RORO the cars from the factory to destination lol.

Perhaps my time sitting on Toyota vinyl seats has altered my ability to reason but I found the “bouncy” seats in my 77 Series to be very comfortable. Easily the best seats of any Land Cruiser I’ve owned.

Dropping a note here to point out an aftermarket seat post recently moved to the 'Group Buys' section...
