I just finished up installing a Victory 4x4 Strike front bumper on my 2020 GX. Overall I’m pretty pleased with the way it installed and turned out. The only issue I’m having, is my inner two parking sensors are picking up the front recover points alerting as if I’m about to hit something.

The parking sensors are orientated the same exact way they came off my GX with the OE bumper. The outer two sensors are mounted with the supplied rubber grommets, but the inner two that are having the issue I reused the mounting hardware from the OE bumper. Using this tip.

Anyone have ideas or tips to get my middle parking sensor to work again.

If you still want the use of the sensors, you could make a mount, extended tubing or something like that to extend them out so they're even with the recovery points.

It’s like that with their rear bumper as well. It picks up the hinge pin plates on mine so I’ve just turned them off. I just don’t try and park super close to anything now.

This seems totally on brand for Victory. Build a bumper, claim that it's compatible with factory bumper sensors, and then have it set off the sensors when you try to actually use them.

I don't understand why people buy from them. I came from the Tundra world...bought a set of lower a-arm skidplates for the front, only to have them wipe out my 2 front rims because they weren't...made to clear the rims. Stock, factory rims. Victory suggested that I cut them down myself.

At least I didn't try the Victory roof rack for Tundras. The first guys to install them found out (the hard way) that the install put screws right into their side-impact (curtain) airbags.

Those guys seem like clowns.

Due to the way the sensors work there probably aren’t many options that retain them and don’t get any interference from a swingout, recovery point, or some other thing that Lexus never intended them to interact with when they designed the system. We’re taking luxury soccer mom SUVs and turning them into up armored offroaders.

I’m also not taking up for victory. There’s some things I’m not super happy with pertaining to the bumpers and other parts of theirs, but it’s too late for me to rip it all off and start over.

Totally get it, but if the sensors won’t work, then don’t sell a bumper with sensor cutouts. Just be honest about the capability and require customers to do a sensor delete.

Absolutely, I bought my Lexus because I wanted a Lexus. I love having parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, radar cruise control, and all the other safety features. I sent Victory4x4 an email so we'll see what kind of response I get. After shooting some folks on insta I saw rocking the same bumper, I'm not the only one with this issue.

What's different about the '14+? The geometry looks the same as my 2011 with a Strike bumper, and I don't have any issues with it, works fine. Did Lexus change something about the sensors on later model years?

And there not really any other place for a recovery point, tied directly in-line with the frame, right? Does your sensor react continuously? Do both of them do it? If so, it might be a bad sensor. I've had a front corner one go bad, and it just always beeped.

Lots of folks on here with the Strike across model years, and it's def not a 100% failure to function problem.

One other thought is to use TechStream to validate if you have a sensor error (malfunctioning sensor) or if you are indeed picking up the recovery point. TechStream will detect an error code specifically for the front sensor array, and even the exact sensor that is malfunctioning ( C1AEX). If no codes, and still firing, then it is indeed the recovery point triggering it. But I can't believe it would be so hit or miss if it was a design flaw. Then everybody's sensors would be going off. I do believe the Strike is the same physical design for all model years from Victory.

Again, not a Victory stock-holder or fanboi (you can search my posts regarding my Strike experience), but just from general troubleshooting, I'd put my money on a bad sensor given the available findings. These things get banged around pretty hard during removal and install, and those wires are thiiiiiiiin. Sucks that it's the middle one, because they are a PITA to access compared to the corners. All in all, small issues aside, I really like the clearance, functionality and non-cow-catcher look of the Victory Strike bumper. Aside from missing a hardware pack (which they overnighted), an absurdly third world-ish wait time during covid (5 months), and the fact that my wings tilt ever so slightly upwards at the back that required additional fender trimming, no other issues. :meh:

I had already turned off the parking sensors before I installed the Strike, because they annoyed me when I went to hook up the camper. So I've never really used them at all, and don't miss them.

Part of the problem for aftermarket bumpers is that Lexus changed the parking sensors multiple times throughout the model cycle, and it is hard for the aftermarket to keep up. Neither my front Victory nor my rear Coastal bumper really accommodated the parking sensors correctly on my 2018, but I didn't sweat it much since I wasn't using them anyway.
