I have been exploring dashcams and wanted to know anyone in a 2020+ been able to implement a dashcam with parking mode, similar to the style of the oem Lexus dashcam PT949-76220-AA. It seems like an elegant no additional wiring compared to a fuse tap solution (terrible video quality).

I believe, not sure but it taps into a constant 12v power source with this harness PT949-48210 and monitors low level soc from the dvr itself?

FitcamX looks appealing, but parking mode is a fuse tap otherwise it runs off a switched acc power line. I could add a dongar unit power cable, runs off the switched rear mirror, but any dvr i add would require a fuse tap as well.

Are you referring to a front, rear and/or side camera? I thought all the 2020+ models came with one, even base models?
Also, you mentioned, "...(terrible video quality)." was there supposed to be a video or link attached to your post?

This is the Lexus GX460 oem dashcam that runs off a oem "y" wiring harness. It has parking mode enabled all with a simple y harness connector.

From the install instruction, im gathering that Lexus might have changed/added a constant 12v prewire to the overhead harness that this camera utilizes to enable parking mode.

I'm sure Acrad will have some input.
im hoping @Acrad chimes in, because im lost. how does the power tap off the mirror harness supply constant power when that system is switched?

Do you have a multimeter? If you're sure the system stays on even when the car is off, use a mulitmeter to test the wires to see if anything is pulling any juice.
I can't imagine it to be very much.

We’d have to look at wiring diagrams for 20+

Not all wiring to the mirror is the same. Even in earlier years back to 2010 with Automatic High Beam a different harness is used to connect to the LDA and AHB sensors. On the AHB for example an extra wire goes to the BCM

I have a 19 Lux and I'm not an expert on dashcams. Installed my first one a Garmin 57 this Spring and used the Dongar mirror power adaptor which runs off switched power. Dongar doesn't make a constant power one because a dashcam hard wired with parking guard and without low battery detection will kill your battery in 4-5 days. The Garmin has low battery detection but I decided not to install constant power, the Dongar was just too easy to install as is.

When I was looking at install options pretty sure that the 20+ have a constant power in the mirror housing someplace with all the new safety features around that time frame. Even if not there is always the map lights you could tap, at least pretty sure that should be an option.

Got one more for recording wildlife that was in front of me where I couldn't get the phone or camera out in time. But the detail for something like that is not the best, yet it is fine if some jack off does something stupid in front of me.

The Garmin does have low battery detection but I did not stab into a constant power source and after the fact have no regrets. The 57 has a built in battery that is good for ~30 minutes after parking guard kicks in. It has gone off a number of times and of course only records what is in front of the vehicle and it has never showed anything. Anything that triggers it must have been on the sides or rear which makes sense if you think about it. To utilize any parking guard properly I feel you would need to have multiple cameras, a rear facing one mounted in the front to capture the sides, in addition to forward facing camera, and another installed in the rear of the vehicle. From my limited experience anyways.

It is the least used mod I have done to the GX. Thought it would be cool to have video of some of the trails that I travel but I haven't even pulled the card since installing it. In fact I should check it and make sure the camera is still aligned properly. One thing I did discover pretty quickly is that a polarized filter is important when driving into the sun in the early morning or late evening.

This. I had to return my first Dongar adaptor on my 19 due to having LDA and AHB and get a different one.
