Mates,

Which of the after market rear bumper will allow me to retain the stock hitch?

Thnx

Why do you want to keep the factory hitch when you can get an aftermarket bumper with integrated hitch?

Might try a search. This comes up every couple years. Sorry, I don't know for sure or I would make a recommendation.

I believe the Bump It Offroad will allow you to use the factory hitch. The Slee might.

Because with the exception of the ARB, the hitches in aftermarket bumpers are not rated to tow. You are taking a legal change by running an aftermarket bumper with an unrated hitch if you get into an accident.
I could easily see an insurance company turning down a claim if you were driving down the road and trailer sway caused an accident. They see that your hitch was not rated to tow any amount and made by some random offroad company.

I had actually asked Christo what amount of weight he would feel safe with to tow using his bumper on a 100 and his response was "We cannot comment on the tow ratings at all. If that is important to you, then I would suggest you use a factory receiver."

I plan to leave my factory hitch on during the summer for towing the boat. I don't wheel in the summer anyways. Then take it off for Fall and winter.

Slee's bumper will allow the installation of the factory hitch as well, though I elected not to keep mine installed when I installed the bumper.

Does anyone know why they changed the style of OEM hitches? My LX had the hitch integrated into the rear bumper via 4 mounting bolts. Most 100's i see have the hitches as an add-on below the plastic bumper.

If this is the factory hitch you speak of, then the BIO bumper will not allow keeping it.

Good point ... didn't catch that the OP had an LX. The LC have the bolt holes for a cross member mounted hitch, but I have never seen a NA spec LC with the Lexus style hitch ...

The Slee bumper will not coexist with the pictured hitch without some significant mods ...

I believe if you try to keep the factory hitch, you will be compromising your departure angle. The factory hitch on my wifes Hundy is below the factory bumper, and definitely hurts her departure angle.
As noted above, there are seveal aftermarket steel bumpers that have intergrated hitches that will keep everything high and tight.;)

My LX has the hitch below the factory bumper, because I want to retain the option of being able to tow maximum vehicle limit thus being able to decide on the correct bumper is crucial. I am not a hard core wheeler, my rig is built for over landing excursion and I do have an off road trailer that I tow. I am aware of the loss of departure angle but willing to compromise.

Maybe the ARB rear bumper is the correct route although I believe that the ARB bumper probably has the worst departure angle of all the after market rears out there???

The departure angle can't be any worse than with the factory hitch hanging down. ARB sounds the correct route for you.
