Has anyone here tried installing any after market cruise control units? I plan on driving up to Ak from Seattle next summer. There is no way I'm doing it with a heavy foot.

Here is the one Im looking at:

With an intercooled turbo 1HZ I shouldnt have to take her out of 5th that often. The cruise should hold her with that much torque.

Cruise control is good on the interstate but up here in Canada where most roads are two lane I find that cruise control is not as handy. My guess is that you'll be able to run cruise control effectively for maybe 10 - 15% of the time.
I assume that you have a throttle control. I'd use that as a "cheap" cruise control (it gives your foot a break but doesn't cancel automatically).

I agree - just use the hand throttle. You can adjust it to get it in the right range. Works great on straight, level roads.
