Can anyone recommend a good looking Cargo/Luggage Tray/Rack to go on the roof of my HJ61?

The height of the roof can make some larger racks look pretty ordinary.

I live in a remote town and don't have an opportunity to go and check any out - ill have to buy online.

Any advice or photos will be much appreciated. I've have a good Google for it without much luck.

thanx again.

Arb racks are really nice also

x2 on Diamondrax, I bought one a few months back and love it. shipping will be a killer on whatever you buy.

pics are failing, I can add one tomorrow from my pc.

Hiya Gav,

Jump onto the Rola Rack website and have a look at their cargo rack, got a nice design and shape to it. Regardless of what you do, you'll either need to use a gutter clamp style cross bar and foot, or take the plunge, drill your roof and run a sliding rail with cross bars.

Have a look on ebay, allways a few good ones pop up but then you gotta talk them into shipping to weipa:frown:

They even pop up in sahara high roof or normal.

This past Monday I placed an order for a DiamondRax Safari Basket. I want a mean and bullet proof rack, so I went with the full size 54x84x6 and 10 2.0 Bulldog Rain Gutter Clamps & Triple Dog Supports.

I will pay $285 freight from California, US to Puerto Rico (Caribbean).

Check your local freight companies and shop around for the best quote.

PS. Gamiviti was my second best choice.

Get one fabricated by any good fab shop. That or build your own if you have the tools, space and some basic skills. Paying a shop to fabricate you one will cost about the same as the aftermarket racks but allows you to get it made exactly how you want for your uses. It may even come out cheaper then an off the shelf rack depending on how crazy you get with the rack.

I am all for aftermarket gear, but from my experience, it often is a few hundred bucks cheaper to have something custom fabricated that is equally as good as an off the shelf item if not better. Often with the big brand names and off the shelf items you are paying for the name in the price. Kaymar being a very good example of this along with ARB. A Kaymar rear bumper for the 60 series with all the options is over $3k, to me that is laughable because I can have a custom rear bumper made with all the gear for a lot less and it will be better then the Kaymar. But hey if you feel you need the name to pimp your truck then by all means, it is your money.

I have a hj61 and have been looking for three years, tossing ideas around. If I buy one it will be a full size from diamond rax. They will also do custom fab if you want, the bulldog gutter mounts look awesome and price is definitely the nest bang for the buck.
