I’ve been researching the sequoia builds on about every forum I can find since my father in law gave us his sequoia. It’s a 2002 Limited with 196k miles in the clock.

Since I’ve owned it I’ve replaced the following:

-brake rotors/pads
-stereo
-rear bumper
-front passenger fender
-plugs, coils, and o2 sensors (o2 sensors were cheap Chinese, replacing again with Denso)
-replaced both front seat leathers
-replaced rear hatch handle and window motor
-replaced driver window regulator

as of yesterday I got the first three mods of my build:

OME 2.5” lift from 1st Gen offroad
Freedom Offroad UCAs from 1st gen Offroad
Maxi Trac awning from Napa

Still to come
-Tires/wheels- thinking ko2s with either a 16” or 17” wheel. Leaning towards 16” for more sidewall

-OEM lower ball joints
-JBA shorty headers (needed for tick and stuck o2 sensor)
-Sherpa rack
-ARB tundra bumper
-xbull winch
-either coastal Offroad bumper or rigd tire carrier
-100 series snorkel

Sorry fellas, it’s in very stock form right now. I’m out of town but I’ll have a starting point pic as well as a pile of parts to show in a couple days.

I was just yanking yer chain. It’s all good:flush:

Apparently he’s going to leave us in suspense for a while.:meh:

It;s all good- at least he isn't like this guy in the 90 series section who claimed to have a few 90 series and hiluxes stateside, and when i joked about him not sharing pictures he called me a Karen and told me to come see them myself, pretty sure hes a dealer just trying to make a sale.

Sorry OT

What is this “Karen” thing? I’m hearing it everywhere lately.

@mtoddsolomon : They ALL start out “very stock”. Nothing that can’t be remedied, and sounds like you are on your way. There is a shortage of 1st gen Sequoia content on the webz, so we like to see what other people are doing.

Ball joints and yaw rate sensor came in last night.

I’m still waiting on the lift to come in but I had Josh at 1st gen Offroad build the strut instead of just sending the parts, so I knew it would take a little longer.

I’ve committed to 16” wheels. That’s what I’m running stock right now, I feel like I have the least desirable wheels on a sequoia but I can update those down the road. I want to do some steelies for simplicity.

This one isn’t mine but it’s so close it may as we’ll be.

I've always found that style of wheel to be quirky. Get some 285/75/16s and send it!

I have hated them since the day I got this sequoia. Hard to complain about a free car but I have my gripes.

I think I’m going to just go with some cheap rough country steelies. They’re like $70 a wheel. I remember back in high school I got some very similar for my old Xj for $31.

Yeah, those wheels are “special”. :hillbilly: If you were closer I’d have a set of brand new 285 Toyo ATs I just took off my 2020 Tacoma after only a couple of months. The black steelies will look great. WAY better than the 3 spoke horror shows on there now.

It’s lift week. I’m going to start the process Saturday, I’ve lifted my old f150 so I’m hoping this goes pretty smoothly. I’ll post pics as I get things done.

Love those wheels. Now I’m kicking myself for not getting those

Ahh, sorry…missed that you had picked up the pro-comps.

Are you running spacers in those pics? (Looks like it from my living room). Seems like a perfect offset.

Don’t kick yourself too hard if he’s running spacers. That’s not an ideal situation to be in. If your Procomps are the correct backspace it will make your life far easier.

Sequoia is a friend’s…and yes, 1” spacers all around. While not a fan of spacers myself (because I’d be the guy whose wheel passes him on the highway), he’s been running spacers for 6 years and 2 sets of wheels with no issues to date.
