Thanks everyone actually I was worried because I just installed a k&n washable oil air filter and I observed the oil pressure needle remains a little below the half mark at idle as compared to white air filter from toyota where the needle stays at exact half when car is idle and car temp is hot.

Hi guys once again I would like to ask anyother question my car has been parked for a month almost as I went on vacation now I want to start and run the car does anyone have a good advice for starting a car which has been parked for one month and never been started in this month.Thanks.

There really shouldn't be much that you need to do when you come back after 4 weeks.

If the cranking battery is in good condition, the engine should start like normal.

However, if your battery is in poor condition (unlikely for a 2011) then you may want to disconnect the battery and put it on a smart charger before starting the engine.

I don't think there should be any issues for a car to be parked long only thing is your tires might deflate a little bit and your battery might be discharged.

I would open the hood and just visually check all fluid levels, e.g.: brake, oil, coolant. and tire pressure and start her up. if she doesn't start most likely it's a flat battery which would need a jump start and a few miles of driving to re-charge.

edit: haha guess we posted at the same time, what tempest said about the charging is actually a better idea.

Just start it up. Mine's been in airport parking longer than that with no problem.

My experience is that you can park a LC 100 at a rural Alaska airport for a year and it will start right up. Can't imagine a 200 being much different as long as all the fancy toys don't drain the battery.

Thanks guys but I heard from a friend of mine that in a car parked for long time all the engine oil damps down in the reservior and then when you first start the car theres a lot of friction among the engine components.

OK. So just have your friend turn your LC upside down a couple of times before starting to move the oil around some ... :D

Would that be better to put 1/2 liter of oil from above into the engine before starting the car

Seriously, 1 month?

Not only would 1/2 a pint of oil go well, but have a friend spray alcohol or carb cleaner into your carb as you turn the engine over. It will help to prime things.
I would also rev it to 5000-6000 rpm a few times once you have it turned over. You know, hold it there for 30 or more seconds. Let that motor get nice and hot before you put it in drive.
You may want to add a couple of litres of distilled water to the radiator. And top up your battery fluid as well.

So it means putting oil from the top is of no use the oil pump itself will push the oil up when the car will start.

Yes. The oil pump will do its job, putting 1/2 a pint in is useless...I wouldn't touch a thing during 1 month.

If you had it sitting for 6 months, all I would do is make sure the battery has enough cranking power to turn the motor over, head to the gas station to top up and check your tire pressure.

If you don't run a pre-luber then the old school approach is to neuter the ignition system or disconnect the electric fuel pump, run the starter to let the oil pump float the bearings, reattach things and start it. After a single month, I would just start it. If the battery is not sufficient after a single month, replace it. If this is this is in the arctic or antarctic, that's different.

Hi everybody does anyone got a good suggestion regarding idle start specially in the morning I have in a hot climate area is it necessary to warm up the engine 1 or 3 minutes before driving or untill the rpm needle is at zero.Any suggestions.

When the RPM needle is at zero, the truck would be off?

In hot climates you should have no problems. With all vehicles it's good to drive gently, not 'pushing' it or going over 2500 RPM until oil temps warm up. In hot climates that should be no time at all.

Thanks actually what I mean by zero is that after having a morning start the rpm gradually come down as the temp of car goes up should I wait for temp to come to the start line or should I move on is there any specific care to br taken I have seen people starting anf waiting for engine to warm up and then they move is it good practice for cars engine.

Best practise is to let the engine warm up before driving, you can as well drive when the engine is cold just take it easy with the gas pedal and keep as said before under 2,500 RPM and it should be fine. If waiting is a problem you can always install a remote engine starter

Guys I would like to ask does a new truck with only 14000 km on odo decreases the engine oil I mean burns out the engine oil is it normal.
