just make sure that disc. axle is 78 and down........... you should have 4.11 in your diffs and if it is a 79 and up axle it will have 3.73

good luck

*edit marshall beat me to it or atleast tied me*

Correction on this, monkey boy, The 4:11 went through 1/79.;p

Dukeblue do you already have front discs? Its recommended that you do the front first, just consider that if you dont have fronts.
nope...no front disc brakes...all old school drum brakes...

Hey, thanks for all the help guys! Clemson55 - if you took that axle off just to take that picture to demonstrate what a "third member" was - well then,:beer: for you!! I now know what a third aka pumpkin aka diff is. I'd love to come to the clean-up... perhaps on my way to Atlanta.... for the axle. Where in SC is this road? Would anyone be coming north from Atlanta with room to spare for an axle? I see Heather is picking up parts or is someone taking them back to her - I guess I could do that since I'm likely heading in that direction. Is this road on the way to Atlanta and what is the driving time from Charlotte? Oh, what's the likelihood of my being able to move this axle by myself or am I going to need help? Thanks,
William

Help would be highly recommended unless you play O-line for a D-1 school or in the NFL.

The rd would be on your way to the ATL if you want to take the highly scenic and substantially longer way to get there.

That is just some pic that popped up on Google image search I think its off an MG.
