I have a '76HJ45 with a 2H engine and 5 speed tranny.
Question: can I put an Adventure Trailer Chaser (about 2500 GVW) effectively on mining trails in the Colorado Rockies?

Thanks and cheers!

Happy Easter

That's a pretty general question. There's many trails in CO.. but Yes.. AT trailers are built for USA tight and narrow trails. It's switchbacks and backing up is the part you have be careful of.

Happy Easter to you

Towing

Oops, sorry...need to ask more clearly; does the 2H have enough power to effectively tow the trailer?

You can check on the Expedition Portal forum. There is at least one guy there that tows an AT Horizon with his FJ40. What I don't know is if he has the stock engine in there.

Just my .02

That would be a good tow for her.....

Most of those trails are done in 4 low just to keep the brakes from getting to hot as well as the trans.

Getting there is going to be your hardest challenge for the rig...I'm sure you will be slow on the hard up grades but will be fine on the flat.....

I'm looking forward to getting my 60 all fixed up and taking my trailer out for a spin.

Hope this helps.....
