Advance adapters Chevy V8 to H55F tranny

Hey guys, I am inching along with my V8 conversion and I have gotten into a bit of a snag. I have the Advance adapters kit for the Chevy engine to H55F tranny. In that kit, there are these two small blocks. Now I'm not saying that the instructions with the kit are horrible, but I have to guess on a few things when putting it together.

For all the people that have used this kit, where do I put these blocks? On my picture, should they be on #1 (the sides) or #2 (top and bottom)? What are they for anyways?

depends on your clutchfork. see which fits best and use it. also use loctite
