Ads in iPad app?

Updated the iPad app a day or so ago and I am now getting all kinds of ads in the app. Is there a new setting or is this just life with the updated app?

I'll have to look...I haven't messed with the app settings in months, guessing the latest update changed something.

Yet another reason I cannot stand the app.

Shame on me for falling (yet again) for the old update ploy.

Pisses me off b/c the update description is very generic.
