Trying to think how to make the ride adjustable so the vehicle is fit for off roading and also street driving with family without having the wife wining and complaining. Front suspension is not that bad right now but rear is quite bouncy and bottoms out on rebound here and there on bigger speed bumps when i go over without stopping, with only two big guys sitting in the back. Thats a bit much. I know that is more related to the coil springs as well in conjunction with the shock but since i am going to have to replace both then why not get something.
Has anyone had the pleasure of
1. installing adjustable damping shocks
2. air suspension vs coil springs - non height adjustable.

I am not trying to avoid being a situation where i dont like the ride quality after installing. Assuming adjustables will take care of that issue. Which brands are recommeds

Thanks.

TJM no longer has a distributor in the states. Same can be said for Tough Dog.
Leaves you with OME, Dobinsons, Slee, and some other more expensive options. I guess it depends on your wallet and need for happy passengers.
I will say the weight of your unloaded vehicle and intended use needs to be considered in your choice.

Dobinsons MRAs are a pretty easy choice. I’ve been running mine for a while and they’re easy to adjust for weight or different driving conditions. A couple weeks ago I drove my 80 from Montana to sand hollow Utah and then proceeded to hit whoops between 20-30mph. I didn’t really need to adjust the shocks except when I found the rear was bucking too much, I added a little high speed compression in and it got better. I should probably add more next time

I’ve had my Dobinsons MRR’s for almost a year and really like them. I’ve kept notes on the settings i’ve found best for different loads and trips. Makes it easy.

how much did they cost you?

Honestly, I don't remember exactly. I got them from Exit Offroad last xmas, I *think* he had a special on them. But having them now, I wouldn't go back to a non-externally adjustable shock. IMHO it is a waste of money betting that some 3 party company is going to know how you have your rig built and valve accordingly.
