how or what is your recommendation to add more lightning to front of vehicle for nighttime driving ?

I have stock front bumpers. Led bars in bumper or round hellatype lights?

2002 Tacoma

Appreciate the help

for street or off-road driving?

led bulbs in your factory sockets will be a lot whiter/brighter. the hid/projector retro will do a lot as well, stay around 5.5k-6.3k for the bulbs else you will start to loose distance. if your in the country and drive back roads (not much on coming traffic) focus on driving lights or LED spot. if your on busy streets then fog or flood LED will help fill the road with light without blinding oncoming traffic (or getting you a nice ticket)

I am in the city but very high up in the hills with no lights and lots of wild animals

Thus need brighter light

What LeD bulb in factory socket would you recommend ?

Thanks

I haven't switched over to LED yet on my headlights still running OSRAM Night Beakers (good output and life so far). I did install a LED light bar behind my valance. it has great fill from the bumper forward and the sides, starts drop of about where my hi beams do. great for me, just need to cut them off when someone approaches.

used these parts made for a nice install. switch is next to my AUX outlets on lower front dash.

there 6 bolts that hold the bumper on, 2 on each bracket and one on each corner where the fender and bumper meet. and of course disconnect the turn signals. i mounted the light on the reinforcement bar behind the valance. took about 6-7 minutes to get the bumper off. note: take off the nuts on the ends from the wheel well side (the larger nut of the 2) the nuts you would access from underneath the bumper can snap off pretty easily. the valance and bumper come off as one piece and there is plenty of room to drill the holes needed to m4ount the light bar. just find the center and mark the bar before you remove the bumper.

a friend installed these on his truck the other day, haven't seen them yet but claims they are a lot brighter/whiter then the stock bulbs he was running.

the H4 and the 9003 are identical except for the mounting base. an H4 will fit in a 9003 with out issue a 9003 has one tab that is a bit longer and generally wont go into a H4 base with out some brute force.

i placed a piece of paper between the bolt and the closed end of a wrench (to hold the bolt in place) and stuck the wrench in the end opening of the reinforcement bar and pushed the bolt through the hole i drilled. once you have it tightened up just pull the wrench off. I also used an external tooth lock washer between the bolt and the reinforcement bar to help hold things in place (vibrations and such) and help with the ground. used a split lock washer and a little lock tight on the nut side. it's not coming off on it's own. :)

Wish you were my neighbor!!!

lol, thanks man. if you have any questions post up i'll try to answer.

Leds in stock look brighter but tend to lack distance and the glare will blind incoming drivers. I have hid in a projector retrofit and it has good distance and eidgh and a nice sharp cutoff. You can do it yourself relatively affordable or you can go nuts on options. Plenty of how-tos or you can have them built.

Any details ?

On my setup? It's a morimoto mini h1 5.0 package, 35w 5000k hids, mini graphite shrouds, and smoke reflectors. My new set is a morimoto 7.0 package, 55w 5500k hids, mini Gatling shrouds, all black. I like a little custom, but not bling like some people. Mainly do it for function.

A friends truck, kept chrome for a more factory look on them.

And another friends 4Runner, chrome with halos. Halos are switchback capable, but he only has the white hooked up and not the turn signal function.

I can.
