Not wastin any time- here's my first question

I noticed an intermittant high idle since driving the 80 and through searches learned this is a semi common problem. Started her up, idling ~950 warm. Shut her down, disconnected accelerator cable, started her up again 650 and purrin. Seems to me the cable is stickin. Also visible signs of wear. Need to replace.

Only problem is I can't find the part number through searches. I have a family contact at a Florida Toyota dealer, but need the part number to order. Does anyone have this number on hand? I'd contact CDan, but didn't want to bother him if I wasn't buyin the part from him (unless he doesn't mind ;);)). I ran into this problem at my local Toyota dealer. Parts manager was very angry to say the least. Thanks in advance.:beer:

Seems like it's 78180-60280. Just want to be sure before I order. Anyone?

Correct.

I stock them.

I picked up a '94 FZJ80 a couple weeks ago and have discovered that the acc. cable is completely shot (the casing is cracked and peeling in many places). The shadetree mechanic before me apparently wrapped the cable in some kind of heater hose and oiled it. Oh - and rigged an extra string to the end to "help" pull it back! I have a new cable and am ready to put it in, but I just wanted to check if this extra thick tubing that it's currently wrapped in is normal. It doesn't look so good, but it seems odd that the cable would lay across the top of the engine without any protection like it will. Maybe there's more wrong than I think ? I should have an FSM on the way, but don't have it yet. I can't find any pictures of the 1FZ-FE that show what the accelerator cable should look like installed.

Thanks!

I don't. My parts cleats went in the trophy case almost two years ago.:) The number is still live and any Toyota dealer can order it. Finding one in stock on a dealer shelf may be sketchy.

Here's a video of a guy doing it:

I appreciate the reply, Dan!

I saw this thread and I saw Dan say he stocked them and I got a little giddy....then I remembered he's been stuffed and mounted in a museum.
