In my Lexus Lx470 2005 , I found that when I press the accelerate fully (full gas) it goes maximum only at 2000 RPM and it doesn’t accelerate beyond that. But when I put to neutral it’s goes beyond 2000 RPM.

I did the following :

Changed the accelerator pedal. (See attached )

Looking for advice and fix.

Lift all 4 wheels off the ground and try again (be bloody careful it doesn’t drop off the jacks when engaged and revs up/wheels spinning 😳)

Clogged Cats?

Put the car into “D” and see if it goes beyond 2000rpm … sound like it’s in a limp mode though
Have you ever actually done this? In my experience ( on AWD and FWD vehicles ) this makes the traction control think the vehicle is slipping and then you start to hear all sorts of horrible noises as it does whatever it does.

Nope … but then surely it’d do the same thing on a highway with all 4 wheels turning at the same rate? But to repeat … never have done it myself.

Roger that. Yeah with a vehicle on a lift and no resistance from the road, the traction control gets confused and starts to apply power and take power away from wheels in an attempt to correct stuff, or at least I think thats what it does. IDK, the non-technical evidence would be that i've done it on a little AWD CRV and an Acura FWD and both times it led to some loud banging and scary noises so I've not done it again lol
