Tony, is that 9am Sunday or 9pm? 9pm won't be a problem at all. Last year it rained like hell Saturday night during the party and most everyone got up Sunday morning, shook off the party, packed up and hauled ass.

I don't have my atlas with me but the shorter way way was to get off 75s at London Ky and take mostly two lane from there. Not a bad trip at all. I wouldn't want to do it in the dark as there are a few places where you have to change state routes but during the day.....no problem.

9 pm. I checked on my GPS and that is the way it took me. I guess its just as far as Harlan so I really don't know why I'm complaining. Let's wheel already

So you are saying this would not be smart in an FJ40 at night? It would be smarter for me to drive my 4runnner at 80 mph after work instead of the fj40. Plus I would need to wheel the fj40 and drive it home.
Still undecided at this point.

Marty, the back way is not a bad drive at all. Plenty of little towns to pass through if trouble arises. As I get older my vision and concentration has diminished at night and there are a handful of times that you need to change state routes. A co driver would help significantly. I didn't have that last year, was driving a new route and looking at the atlas quite a bit. Driving like that in the daylight is much better. The back way would probably be easier on the 40 as it is lower speeds but driving it at night you would need to be alert for state route changes.

I may be making more of it than need be but that is just how I look at unfamiliar routes while driving.
Come on down. That way you can tell Guy first hand how I have taken care of his old 80 :)

Cool, still need to work out details.

Guy sold his 100 and bought a lezbaru wrx.

I will be doing the same drive at night. We can run together. The way I see it there is enough knowledge and parts down there. You will get home.

Oh, I'm sure I would be just fine. It runs very well and has been very reliable after the F blew up a bunch of years ago. No speedo, gas gauge isn't to fun though in the hills of ky.

Well let me know. I'm thinking Friday afternoon sometime

FWIW...I'll be leaving Dayton around Noon on Friday...maybe...
