I dropped my 87 60 series off at my mechanic buddies shop. Air-conditioning was not working. He told me that it is charged with Freon , but the compressor won’t kick on. No power to the compressor. The fuse is good, the little AC button on the climate control lights up when you push it. He switched out the fuse which was good. He’s asking me two questions. Is there a separate high pressure and a low pressure switch? Second question, where would he find this switch? He can power the compressor up with a jumper wire and it will run. I’m wondering if there is a broken wire or maybe a bad pressure switch.

there is no high pressure switch. There is a low pressure switch in the AC Evaporator box in the passenger side footwell in the box with the evaporator. If this has ground, it wont kick on your compressor. There is also a temp switch in there as well as an AC Amplifier circuit board with a little blue dial to change when and how the ac compressor kicks on
