AC Drain Line

My '97 is plugged up. It doesn't drain condensate from the AC evaporator inside. It has to be going somewhere, or at least it's starting to smell like something's growing in there. My problem is, I can't find the thing to blow it out. Does anybody have a picture of where that thing is?

Well, that was a stupid question. I went back out, determined, and armed with a socket to take the plate off where it should be. It was dark, so I could see it under the plate with the flashlight pretty easily. Took the screw out, pulled the plate back, stabbed it with my handy-dandy tube-cleaner-outer-thingie, and no water. Blew it out with my compressed air nozzle - no water. Parked it facing downhill with the AC on, fairly humid night (for New Mexico anyway). No water. Is there an easy way to get inside there?

what is the dew point there tonight? if it is below 35-40 degrees you will not get any water, that would never happen idurign a GA summer but baybe in NM

Weather.com shows a dew point of 28 degrees in Albuquerque as of

"Monday, June 7, 2004, at 9:56"

My other vehicles will drip condensation but the Landcruiser doesnt. I'd like to know more info too.

Mine drips condensation from the right side of the engine compartment. Just behind the axle, IIRC.

passenger side, outside the framerail....about 6 inched from firewall...rubber tube sticking down that dumps the GA humidity for me.

The Heater/AC enclosure is triangular shaped, tilted toward the front. A little tube comes out at the bottom - I'm assuming that's the drain. It only sticks out a half inch or so through the firewall, and comes out behind a thin aluminum plate (heat shield?) fastened to the firewall. Is that it on some? (mine's a '97) I have no tube sticking down...

Its important to keep that tube and the lower plastic pan free of debris. I have/had sore odors becasue of mildew in the cond. box. I found twigs, dirt and grass in the pan. The tube is not that easy to get to. I found it easier to remove/clean from inside vs. underneath. When installing the tube be sure not to push it through to the exterior its a real pain to remove becasue of the plate protecting the tube from the outside.

all our Cruisers(with AC) drip out the tube when the AC is on. All the tubes are on the passanger side

How much work is it to get at it from inside?
