Hey everyone, I have searched and searched but have not been able to find instructions on how to replace the ABS control module that is under the dash on the driver's side on my 2000 LC. It looks as simple as disconnecting the old one and hooking up the new one. But I am wondering if anything else needs to be done. Bleed the system, reset anything, etc... Any insight would be appreciated. Without a procedure, my plan is to disconnect the battery, hook up the new module, and reconnect the battery. I just want to make sure there isn't some crucial step I don't know about.

Are you talking a computer module, or the entire master cylinder, pump and reservoir assembly under the hood?

Never seen this part fail before, but i think you only need to bleed the brakes if you physically let some fluid out, i don't think changing a module require any of that. To remove the module it's just two bolts connected to the pedal assembly, and remove connector.

Dealer said the module was bad. Dealer also wanted $2K for the part. I found one online for $200 used. I figured it was as simple as unplugging and plugging in the new one. Thanks for the input.

Dealer sees ABS code. They recommend this computer be replaced as a first step. First step is to clear the DTC (codes).

Your R&R plan is good!

Seems a 'common' problem with a $0.50 fix potentially:

Well crap I didn’t see that post. Maybe I’ll see about fixing my old one and keep it as a spare. Regardless, I’m fixed for now. Thanks everyone.

I did clear the codes first. And drove around for a few weeks but never had any codes thrown on me. I chanced the $200 part....
