I have some Land Cruiser parts that I want to mix and match, but cannot seem to find any tech to say it's possible. I've had a couple people say it can't be done, but read an old thread indicating otherwise.
I have an A440f/split case combo from an 89 fj62. The tcase will go into my son's 40 project. My wife has a 95 fzj 80 that I want to transplant a turbo-ed 6.2 diesel into. I want a strong, non-elecrtically controlled transmission settup and would like to know if the tailshaft and output housing from the A442 can swap to the 440 to allow the hydraulically controlled A440F to work with the HF2AV.
The post below implies the split case could be mounted to the A442F, basically going the opposite route I want to go:
https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-...transfer-case-transmission-compatibility.html
The 80 currently has the smaller, later electronically controlled A343F auto.
Thanks,
Matthew
