Same as what I said above applies..

Put a tire on and see if you won't max out the tire inside the fender before it even comes close.

Again not sure what you total set up is, stock tires... You may actually get to hit bump stop...

Me on 37's with my BS on my wheels, I hit fender before bump and before panhard mount.

And again that scenario is only if drives is up and hard cut passengers side...

But I see your concern.

I thought I would report back in this thread a bit since I am now nearly done with my front end and y-link.

Not sure why Jose didn't encounter these issues, perhaps because he doesn't have the caster I now have. FYI, I just cut & turned my knuckles and set caster at 4.5*.

As you can see that is no go. I just purchased the offset GM tres from RS along with their y-link adapter for the offset tres. I also bought their "cure" fitting. That will move the tre 3/4" forward. In addition to this I am going to move the panhard 2" up on the axle. This should also help greatly with clearance issues as well as net other good results.

Cheers

How did the offset TRE's work out for you?
I too have WAY too much contact to make this work w/ J springs, 1" spacer, Caster plates, stock bumps.
The offset TRE's with a Freddilink I am hoping will solve the issues.
Freddilink Steering Adapter Bung

Is there clearance to move the panhard mount up 2"? Looked pretty tight in the stock location from what I can remember.

Going to jump into doing the Y link myself. Wanted to get some confirmations:

-.795" taper at the pitman arm
-.749" taper at the steering arm

^^ Does anyone have a link to a reamer that they would recommend or would this be best suited for a machine shop to take care of it?

-Panhard bar contact - anyone else use any adjustable panhard bars that have not caused contact? OEM?

Running a Y link will eliminate the drag link in the rear yeah? Mine is rubbing on the radius arms and do not want to ruin the marlink anymore than it is now.

Tie rod in front of axle is called “crossover steering” and yes going y-link does that.

I have said it before and I will say it again, don’t convert to crossover steering unless you reconfigure the panhard on the axle. If you try a bolt in solution you will create a dangerous situation. That is tie rod contacting the panhard.

It may be only under the most extreme circumstances and only at full lock one way but it still happens.

I ran the y-link with offset tres for 10,000+ miles. Down to Baja and back, to King if the Hammers and several trips to the dunes at Saint Anthony in Eastern Idaho plus some rock crawling trips. I rolled that Cruiser and when I was tearing it down I found there had been a fair amount of contact with tie rod and panhard. You don’t want your steering to lock up or bust when you are doing 45-55mph in the dunes. Due to this I will never do another without modifying the panhard on the axle.

For those that have it and say no issues, I did cut and turn my front axle, turning knuckle balls about 3*. Perhaps that played a part but regardless I see it as dangerous for the type of wheeling I like to do.

On a 3-link or modifying the panhard mount on the axle and panhard I don’t see any issues.

Cheers

Don't do a y link at all, it's an awful design. Embarrassing. You can run a beefier tie rod behind the axle with heims if you want
