After searching the web I came across this site with a lot of info regarding the Lexus LX470.
I just bought this car and now I looking to upgrade this vehicle with a bullbar, snorkel, spare wheel carrier and long range tank.
My car has the AHC system so all information available about thiks system and the proposed additions to the car would be welcome.

It was an very interesting read about the ARB bullbar. In Australia ARB is telling me that only the Sahara bar will fit, no reason given. But I want full protection against our roos and emus when towing our Kimberley Kamper SportsRV in remote areas.

be sure to subscribe to the LCOOL.org website (Landcruiser owners online) as well.
Both sites are a great resource, and......post some pics of the Lexus!!!!

cheers
peter

The Bull bar will fit, you just have to cut off the top tabs bc the hood/grill is different than the LC

Welcome aboard!

You've also got TJM as a choice for front bars. Seems like Australia has TJM stores like we have Pep Boys here in the US, there's one every few miles.

Thanks guys.
Peter, I am on LCOOL as well with the same username.

Yeah, the TJM or ECB bar looks good as well.
To avoid the AHC system to go to low, an alloy bullbar would be the best.
Then adding a winch with synthetic rope.

Some pictures of the car, it looks very very naked.

I read in your signature that you have an ARB bullbar and an AHC lift.
What is the go with this?
My understanding is that the bullbar weighs around 75 kilos which will probably has an effect on the AHC system.
How do people coop with the extra weight on the front end with the AHC?

I'm no AHC guru as I have regular suspension on my LC, but I believe that there are height sensors that you can adjust on the AHC system to compensate for any droop associated with adding a bull bar. Good looking rig by the way.

DO NOT use an alloy bar if you want protection from animal collisions. Aluminium will crumple with very little force

I wouldn't rely on the ahc alone to compensate for added weight. THe front end is a torsion bar, so you can increase the spring rate simply by winding it up. The rear may be able to be upgraded using land cruiser spec springs, but retaining the lexus ahc shocks.

You also have the option of ditching the lexus ahc system all together which is what most do when an upgrade is required, or the cost of replacing ahc parts (genuine only) becomes to prohibitive.

Hi rov, are you in WA looking at the Big Ram in your avatar?

The weight of my bull bar did not effect my ahc, however, i did cant my T bars a bit to take the pressure off the front. If you want to lift with the ahc, you move the sensors. Hoser has a good write up on how to do this. Cranking the tbars will not add height, just take pressure off the ahc. Whenever my ahc dies, i will go with 2.5 OME. However, the system has worked great so far. knock on wood.

Another question as I couldn't find the answer on the forum.
Is it possible to have the side bars on the LX?
These are also called shrub bars and are basically side steps which flows over to the bulbar, protection the front fenders.

After months of having the car, I have had something done to it.
And we installed the dual battery tray.
