I've been doing some research into the MABDR as a trip for me and my son to do some miles and get some camping in. The Search function is really only showing a thread by some PA guys. I'm looking at the official website but I was curious if anyone has done any of it yet?
Secondly, I'm looking to replace my head unit in the truck but I want something that has the ability to display Waze. Anyone have any info? I can't even come up with anything that's useful for the search tool.
Thanks.

Nothing does Waze integration well. I’ve had all 3 app radios and some other stuff, none of it is seamless with an iPhone. Android? Maybe. Never had one.

Lead Nav and this https://gps.dualav.com/explore-by-product/xgps160 work like a champ off highway

The beacon attaches via bluetooth to the phone or ipad.

Waze is my favorite on road because of the accuracy, seems like waze people really like to tell on the police. ;<)

Are you running leadnav on your phone or an ipad? The gps beacon allows you to operate without a cell signal correct?

Also seems like for our application the slightly cheaper model may be fine. Am I missing an important feature?

I ran leadnav on both phone and ipad.

Yes sir, the beacon attaches via bluetooth, no cell required.

For uwharrie I use AvenzaMaps with the XGPS160 on my phone.

When I bought mine back in 2016, I don't think the 150A was available and everyone said the 160 was better than the previous 150 model. Found this on a google search.

The XGPS160 is good up to 1150 mph, you know for those 200 series. ;<)

The XGPS160 can connect up to 5 devices.

Sorry Jub, I just tracked this down. I've been using the Dual product fairly regularly. I can definitely see the advantage of the 160 model that will link up to 5 devices to it.
When I get out of my truck I have to turn off the iPad then link my iPhone to the 150 before heading out into the wilds. With a 160 this would be unnecessary. It is light weight so when I'm carrying it on my person I don't even know it is there. It seems tough enough to ride around in my pack with no issues.
On a different note I have really come to love the onXhunt app. I was able to integrate the MABDR into the app with no issues.
Although this entire setup would prove more useful for our brethren living West of the Mississippi I feel like it adds a "cool" factor to my rig. And everyone knows Rule #1 is "Always Look Cool". Also, Rule # 2 is "Never get Lost." So this is a Win Win.

Thanks, @Phares - I'm hoping to just mount the Dual to my electrical board in my truck and leave it. Would be nice to have the feature of the 160.

I'll have to check out the onXhunt app. I have been messing around with the Avenza maps and they look pretty nice - would be better if I could figure out how to link all the maps together and if they would somehow automatically tie or tile together vs having to open new ones, etc. I must be doing it wrong if there is a way :(

EDIT: The Amazon feedback on the Dual products is horrible - I wonder if they changed ODM/OEM or if they are a bunch of troll h8rs.

I just installed the Pioneer AVIC-W8400NEX in my 100 series and I’m very happy with the Waze integration. I have an iPhone and connect via wireless CarPlay. My only gripe is that you don’t get the digital speedometer that’s displayed in the app. It isn’t displayed through CarPlay and there’s no way to display it through the app while you’re connected. It bothered me at first, but I figured out to set Waze to beep at me when I’m 10mph over and all is well. I read somewhere that Apple wouldn’t allow it, but hopefully they’ll add that feature later.

Waze is CarPlay compatible now, so any headunit with CarPlay should work. I wanted wireless and a capacitive touchscreen which limits you to handful of units, but anything with CarPlay should work.
