Hello all,
I’d really appreciate AC help when possible, please. I’m in rural Maine and no shops are confident to tackle this.

*So—can I change the Pressure Switch/Sensor without releasing freon?

Bell Lexus says there’s no Check Valve in the compressor. Bummer. Is there a shader valve instead?

Data:
Compressor runs.
Low side pressure over 100.
Clutch does Not engage.
Fan blows strong.
Changed the Relay.
Changed under hood Fuse.
Code “00” (via Recirculate + Auto).
Will do paper clip jump on Switch in a few.

*GX460 2016 Luxury. AC went warm on driver’s side before it quit completely. If I turn A/C on it tries for 3 seconds then turns itself off.

Welcome all tips, advice and sarcastic remarks! Learning amazing stuff from this forum. I do my oil changes and brake pads, but am a novice mechanic. Thank y’all in advance.

When you say, "...no shops are confident to tackle this." do you mean independent shops or Lexus dealers?

Auto AC is pretty universal so just about any competent shop should be able to work on it.

If the switch actually is bad, jumping it with a paper clip is actually not a good idea. I had a Subaru Forester where I did that. It worked for around 8 years until the system developed a leak. The compressor kept running and let go, sending junk through my entire system. I had to replace the hoses, condenser, and flush out the evaporator core. If you can't replace the sensor only, a new compressor is less than $500, and it woudl be much easier to just replace that instead of the compressor and other AC components that are buried under the dash and around the engine.
