Hey Mudders, I have mouse debris in the A/C Evaporator case on my '96. Is it possible to drop the bottom of that case without evacuating the A/C system and removing the Evaporator? I've got the front of it at the point where I can pull it down maybe an inch, and I've disconnected the drain hose and two firewall 10mm/phillips bolts, but it's tough to tell what fasteners are hidden on the back against the firewall. Are there clips back there like there are on the glove-box side? The Haynes repair manual that I have is, as usual, short on detail.

By the way, part of the debris is the Bounce dryer sheets that I put in the cowl vent to repel mice. Apparently they make a nice soft bed.

I've seen this post from five years ago and I'll pull the blower motor next.

Do you have a stick mirror? I would use that to be sure. As I recall, there are clips on the back side but I removed the whole thing, so I wasn't trying to do what you are doing.

Pull the blower motor from inside first.

I did a writeup on how to drop the evap and replace it. Look for that thread in the FAQ section and maybe that'll give you some ideas. It's not possible to split the evaporator casing in place and after you see the pics, you'll understand why!

Yes, your write-up was instrumental when I replaced my AC system with new.
