Unfortunately upon inspecting your item we found out that the item was damaged. We do not want to send you a defective part. This was the last one we had in our stock. We tried to source you a new one but unfortunately were not able to find one.

We are sorry to tell you that we have to cancel your order. We have already fully refunded you your money.
Hopefully we will get the item again soon and we will be sure to let you know.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We hope you understand.

Same thing here. Kind of shady. But at least we got a refund right away.
 
This is a common con on eBay as a way of getting a short-term interest-free loan. Very disappointing! Please all leave a negative feedback for this seller so that future customers are aware.

On to "Plan B" now, but still thanks to @okoverland for sharing the info. Once I try and refurb mine, I will post a pic if it's not embarrassingly amateurish....

Yea, got to love the "Buyer asked to cancel" for the reason. Actually no way to leave feedback now.
 
I just ordered two from amayama .. appears to be a japanese parts dealer? looks like it will take a month to get here. if they don't show up ill just dispute it on the credit card.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Thx for the tip, jackhossross. I ordered that part from them a few months back. After about two weeks, they informed me that the part was not available and refunded my money. I'm trying again. Hope we have better luck this time!

Amayama is notorious for claiming to have parts in stock that are not actually in stock. The last 4 times I ordered parts from them, all cases where I knew the part was difficult to source but they were the only one's claiming stock, they ended up cancelling the order later. It usually takes them at least a week to figure out they can't get the part. They have come through for me on parts before, but it's always been when other sources were also claiming to have the part in stock. I have an outstanding order for a part with Amayama now, but I'm fully expecting it gets rejected soon and am already working on backup plans... used parts in this case as I already exhausted every outlet I can think of.

Readers digest version: If Amayama is the only place claiming to have stock of a part, they probably don't. They'll make it right in the end, but don't order that rare part and then assume that all is done. Work up a backup plan for when they probably cancel your order.
