New to 4Runner side (Mud vet so yes know how to search, also own an 80 an 100). Picked up a 2002 Limited, 2wd for my son. Shock/struts shot so picked up a full set of shocks/springs off of CL. They are from a 97 4wd (180k miles). Earlier had grabbed some rear springs out of a 2016. For the rear, my question isn't if they fit, I know they will. It's obvious those from the 97 are taller but will that translate under load? I know the 4th and 5th Gen are heavier as well. Which to go with? Keep the 97 set together? Thought maybe a newer set would be more fresh and keep similar height since they're from a heavier rig.
