looks interesting, similar to an aussie, nz truck.ill be sure to follow it

im also surprised no americans have put dibs on the sliding windows yet too

If anyone wants the sliding windows, I'll try and bring them back to the US in March. I'll be flying to Austin TX to get married. I'd have to make some change for the trouble, but I'd do it.

I doubt anyone would like the sliding windows. We pretty much all have sliding rears in the U.S.. If they were solid non-sliding windows you would have some takers for sure.

Progress. Mocked up the sheet metal in the rear windows and started welding.

Unfortunately, I only have (very) limited experience on a wire-fed welder, so I had to leave this part of the work to a local. Not the prettiest welds, but they'll hold and clean up with a grinder and come body work.

I'm sure it'll look fine when it's finished. Thanks for sharing your build. I enjoy reading the thread, and although I have no desire to enclose my rear sliders I understand why you are. I like out of the box thinking!

Thanks! I went back and forth on the delete for a few weeks. But, once I get the OBA and everything else mounted back there, a smash and grab in Uganda would be inevitable.

Christmas took it's toll on productivity, but the new paint should be on in the next few days. Lots of body work to get done on the window delete.

Are you selling or interested in selling that rear AC setup ?

It's in pieces, sorry. At this point, the only thing still complete is the actual unit that mounts behind the interior panel (photo earlier in post). The duct work from the ceiling is being re-used for speaker mounts.

If you want that unit, I could look into bringing it to the US with me in March. But again, you'd have to make your own duct work and AC lines.

thats fine, I actually will use it just for fan purposes, Ill worry about the ac lines later

I see it had a blower in the rear, maybe try and retrofit some of it

if you can please try and pool all of the rear ac parts, it would be greatly appreciated

I will begin putting together a small checklist of the major parts

awesome build by the way and congrats on getting married, I will be checking your thread daily

This is a really interesting build thread, really enjoying it. Subscribed.

X2 on letting us know the part information for the rear ac. Us in Florida could really use that.

I'll respond here instead of the PM's I have received on the rear AC. The parts are either large, heavy, or both. I live in Uganda and don't make it to the US much and when I do, I only bring one suitcase back to the states.

I'd be willing to try and fit the rear AC unit in an action packer and bring it home. I never turned it on, the truck went straight to the shop from purchase and it was removed. If it'll fit and I have space, I'll bring it home and sell it. Everything else is either too large/troublesome to attempt to bring back to the US for a few bucks.

I can source JDM parts here and bring them back, but they'd have to be small. Also, I have no idea of the availability of them here vs someone else on the board who might actually live in Japan or an area of greater availability.

Yes they will be small jdm parts

I hope to have the rear fan set up with blower etc

Still sourcing what I can online about rear ac

It should be pulled out in the next day or two. I'll do everything I can to pull it out in one piece and see how it fits in an action packer. Shipping once in the US will be a bear, I assume it isn't light.

But if you're like me, you know what you want and will pay to get it :D

More body work. The window delete is turning out to be time consuming, but I want it factory looking and perfect. It's actually getting there and looks really good in person.
