97 Fzj80 for sale - $9500

Facts:
- 116,xxx on the odometer
- Factory front and rear lockers
- All options (leather, sun roof, 3rd row, wood grain, original sticker in the glove box at $52k!
- Brand new 285/75/16's mud terrains
- Fresh: front and rear diff gear oil, battery, trans fluid, oil, plugs, cap, air filter, front rotors and pads, pvc and hose

Opinions:
Clean inside with husky liners all around, leather is pretty good except for the center console. Wood grain sucks I would remove it (and might before it is sold).

Exterior has a few pinstripes, no rust, good paint that shines up pretty well. I did remove a fender flare, but am reinstalling it with all new hardware this weekend. Has been de-running boarded.

Runs very strong, no noises or clunks. Average 16mpg, 1qt of oil every 1k - 1.5k miles. Smokes a little when you start her. I would not hesitate to drive it any where in the hemisphere.

Problems:
- Antena doesn't work
- Sun roof leaks on occasion, cleaning the drains works.
- DS rear door lock won't move under it's own power sometimes

Wow, that thing looks nice and clean !!!!!!!

I would be interested in it, but my wife just talked me into a low milage 1992 4x4 F-350 C-cab XLT FS locally for cheap....could not resist.
She wants to go camping in a bigger tralier than an 80 could tow easliy.......so gotta keep 'er happy.

I will still get my 80 someday.
We have a 1999 Tacoma pre runner.so I can still qualify to be on this site !!!!!:D

Good luck with the sale....it should go pretty quick I would think !!

Location

Truck is located in Eagle.

I will be in Denver this Sunday and could show it to you at about 2:30 at 58th and Broadway.

Let me know.

Thanks,

my only hesitation is the fact it smokes on startup, any idea as to what the issue is? Seems like the mileage is quite low, was it sitting for a long period of time? Possible valve seals?

dog

The dog is not for sale. He looks kind of timid but attacked the biggest black bear I have ever seen early this summer. The bear had to be close to 400lbs.

My wife and I were running down a trail, dog starts barking so we look up and see the huge bear (which the dog is barking at) I stop, wife runs. The bear wasn't moving, just shaking his head and grunting. The dog ran back to me and I said "go get the bear!" he turned around and laid into the bear, snaping snarling, lunging at him.......straight out of old yeller, then chased the bear 100yds up hill.

Long story short, he is a great dog. Great with our 6 month old too. He is a pit bull/black and tan coonhound mix.

smoke

the smoke may be valve seals, maybe rings (but all of the plugs were a little dirty when I changed them, so it isn't just one cylinder.

The smoke is on start up, some of it is condensation since I see water comming out the tail pipe too.

Splke to my local dealer (big horn in glenwood springs) they said just drive it, probably fine. It does run very strong. I drove up vail pass west bound at 70 the other day in 3rd and up Floyd hill at 65mph. Ask any other front ranger (denver area) guys how fast there 80 goes up these hills. My foot was not on the floor. I think this is the best compression test out there.

I know a good dog when I see one, may have saved your life!!! Tell the wife not to run next time! Good luck with selling the truck.

still for sale

bump still for sale. Might be willing to trade for a local (colorado) K5 blazer in nice shape and some $?

oil

Did my last oil change with 10-40 and have noticed any smoke or oil loss since.
