So I just got her back from some botched e-brake issues causing a non-so-desireable sound when driving, which is a can’t do. While he was in there he also re-sealed etc $ etc $ and she’s rolling SAWEET. And now the N cluster light flashes while driving..

The transmission isn’t ‘hopping’, as in it’s not trying to decide if it’s in gear or not (or at least doesn’t feel like it). Does it whole throttling or coasting while both in D.

The odometer is still ticking.

The mph is correct vs the pioneer gipsess..
Anyone cruisin the forums and have encountered this? I only found 3 related threads to this but this isn’t related sadly.

Thanks!

And the back story is for entertainment, Steve (who did the seals and enrage work) is a legend, at least in my mind, and has been more than awesome. This is unrelated, just a snowball effect with my cruiser 😡😡 fix one thing to chase the next haha

I did speak with him just to ask that very question, all the work he did was in the rear passenger so he’s more than confident it wasn’t something by him, accidental or not. Intermittent describes it, as in I wasn’t sure if it was only at throttle, or coasting after throttle, because the light is fickle. But it will blink during both for no set time, and will stay off, sometimes what seems like long enough to think maybe it was a cold start issue and it’s gone, but negative haha

Is this with the lights on and all transmission lights on or during the day when only the D should be lit? If it’s at night it just sounds like your bulb is going out or has a bad contact. It’s usually the D light that goes first but they are all succeptable.

A good question, I’ll have to do some troubleshooting on the light combo by driving. Anything else I can try in sequence?

So far all of this HAS been with the running lights on (always drive with some sort of illumination). That’s a (hopefully) simple fix, my D light is already out so maybe the N is loose. I’ll plan on gettin in there to replace them, maybe LED?!

Have to FSM and thread search for a good tear down step by step

And as always, love seeing replies. This is a great support community and I’m glad to be in it!

More investigation, it’s with any combo of no/parking/lights on or off, so my next course is to replace every bulb on that cluster while I’m in there, but until then wanted to send this to the top incase anyone has ran in to this.

Clearly hoping it’s a bad contact on the N bulb..

Did you ever figure out the root cause here?
I had a similar issue this AM.
While in "D" and coming to a stop (coasting or braking) my reverse light will blink, then stop when I am accelerating again.
Similar to the above, the transmission is still shifting fine.
My "D" light has already burnt out.
Speedometer still works.
Lights were on this AM, will see what happens on the drive home this afternoon.

Just closing the loop here. It seems I am having some electrical issues.
"Reverse" light is actually flashing when my blinker is on.
Also, a couple days ago my rear wiper decided to have a mind of its own and operate despite being "off"
I did check my trans fluid and was a little low (trans cooler hard lines under the driver side headlight went a few months ago and I must have lost more than I thought).
