96 Landcruiser driver seat will not move backwards.
Need diagram/schematic, or just instructions on removing the switches for repair. All other seat functions and related power operated features are working.

Thanks.

If someone could tell me the best way to just get the switches out of the seat so I can replace them, that would be the greatest help.

I know it's nothing complicated...........just don't want to break anything in the removal process.

Thanks.

Alright.........learning as I go here.
Found an old post with highlighting a problem with a white plug on power seats which tends to either fall out, or suffer from stripped threads, the end result being no rearward movement in the seats.

How do I access this plug to inspect it, or even see if it is still there?

BTW.........this is my fiances LC, so I currently have no experience with this vehicle other than driving it.

You can see the white screw by looking under the seat while standing outside the vehicle. Look at your passenger side and you can see it over there for a reference point. The screw is on the outside of the seat facing the door on both driver and passenger seats.

Thanks for the help.

The plastic screw is gone from the drivers side, so I am just gonna replace it with the one from the passenger side for now.
Threads do not appear to be stripped.
The seat has been like that for a while, so I doubt the screw is lying in the LC anywhere, and it does appear to be in a prime spot to fall out when the door is opened.

Anyone know if this screw can be bought by itself from a dealer, or does it have to be purchased as part of an assembly?

Unfortunately you have to buy the whole assembly. PM CDan for your best price.

Hmmm, I just put mine back on to solve the seat problem, and it was on the inside by the transmission (for passenger side). Are there two?

When I had problems with passenger side, I also found my plug, fallen out, and it was on the inside by the transmission. At the time, I simply screwed it back in, and then pulled the entire seat out and did clean up and lubrication of all the gears underneath. Seat has worked fine ever since. JATO
