Wanted 95-97 FZJ80 or lx450

First off let me start by saying this is my first post to the forum. I've been a long time reader and short time member while acquiring knowledge on the 80/100 series cruisers and I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on something.

Now to the point of the post. I'm looking for a 95-97 fzj80 or lx450. I'm not picky on the lockers since air lockers can be added later. The only must for me is no rust or little as possible and straight body. My budget is 9k and although I know it's not the highest budget I'm perfectly ok buying one that needs even a total motor rebuild or some tlc on the interior. I'm located in the south west part of Georgia and am willing to travel a good ways (up to 8-10hrs) for the right deal. I look forward to hoping the series 80 community and Thanks fellas

Not sure if you already bought an 80 since you were asking in March - if not, there is a '97 LX450 near me (Southeast NC) with factory lockers which needs engine and interior work but you can get it for $3500 or less - leaving you with around $6k to improve it. See the 80's forum thread by me from last week......

She may not be the best one out there and have a few little bugs but she sure was a heck of a deal!

For $3500 it sure does looks great! That gives you plenty of room for mods and maintence!

$3500!?! The engine and transmission missing? Is the driver's side completely smashed to bits? Love to hear the story how you scored this deal!

It’s got the little issues. Power steering pump is whining of course the front seats have a few tears missing one piece of trim around the sunroof and the lockers aren’t engaging although they are 100% there and radio doesn’t work. Engine and trans run like sowing machines! Body has a few blemishes in the paint obviously but absolutely zero rust and straight as an arrow on the body! Fella posted it for 3900 and I saw it literally 15 minutes after posting went to see it the next day and when the lockers wouldn’t engaged (which he called the 4wd) and the pump was whining he asked if I was ok at 3500 and it was all I could do not to rip my wallet out of my back pocket while doing flips. Drove it 2 hours home at 70mph and no major issues. I’m pleased with the intial purchase to say the least.
