Hi. It's me Seth. I'm that guy. You know- the guy with a different cruiser project every year and a half? I'm at it again..

Up for sale is my 4bta powered 80 series. Has successfully taken me through Rubicon twice, up and down Baja a few times, Moab, Costco, and many other exotic and adventurous spots. LEGALLY registered in California as a diesel. Best mileage? 24mpg on a mellow road trip. Averages around 18mpg with my mixed city and hwy driving. Biodiesel? You betcha. WVO/SVO? Never, not a chance.

So...here's the skinny;

1994 cruiser w/ 3rd row seats (seats 8 small humans)
~220,000mi on truck, ~40,000 on 4BTA
Factory Locking differentials front and rear
Rebuilt 4bta w/ 3200rpm spring. Motor purchased FROM CUMMINS!
700r4/split t-case (part time 4wd!) both freshly rebuilt by Georg at Valley Hybrids
Safari Snorkel
Hanna Sliders
Dual batteries
Slee 4"heavy lift with caster correction plates and extended brake lines/sway bars
Slee shortbus front bumper
35" cooper sst (5 total)
Alpine stereo with Boston Acoustics speakers. iPod cable.

The "bad"?

Front seats are ripped. I usually roll with SOR covers anyway, so I never remember.
Body has some bumps and bruises. Nothing major, but it is by no means in cherry shape. Couple of dings and scratches, but no rust. Has been a lot of places, and has the scars to prove it. But hey-chicks dig scars, so there's that.

I'm selling since I've moved on to the next project, and I'm trying to thin the herd. Also, the wifey isn't keen on continuing to lift our two older dogs, and our two year old son into a 4"lifted 35" tire shod cruiser. Something has to go, and it is this cruiser.

Asking price is $20k OBO.

So, there ya go. Happy New Year!

Is it just me or did you tilt the engine to the passenger fender to get the oil pan to clear the diff.

Sick ride! GLWS:beer:

Those motors are always installed canted slightly. Had nothing to do with clearance. (it'd have to be completely tilted sideways to really clear the axle! That thing is TALL)

Thanks!

Bump for a sweet rig. I checked it out today in person, and it is super clean. Drives perfect, and shifts smooth. I probably have one too many vehicles in the stable right now to add this one, but it's tempting. Whoever gets it won't be sorry.

was the 700r tranny the panther/beefier version that Proffits started using later on down the line? or just a regular 700r?

did tranny fail-full rebuild- or did George just do some mods to make this buttery smooth?

what rpms is this cruising at 65mph?

stock gears?

i don't know who built that transmission in this cruiser originally when proffits installed it. looked pretty much like a stock unit with non of the HD parts or upgrades.
however, it's now fully updated and completely rebuilt to last. so it received a full rebuild kit with borg warner frictions, HD 3-4 clutch pack, new steels, all bushings, torrington bearings, washers, filter, HD band, bigger boost valves, the "beast" sun gear shell, both sprags, new rear planet, upgraded pump, .........you get the picture. this transmission was built the same way we always build them and we've gotten great reliability out of them. we ran the identical trans behind a cummins 6 banger and got 112k miles out of it, most of them towing. so they hold up just fine.
as for the shifting, we do not run corvette servos or huge shift kits. we change the boost valves and modify the valve body. we also run all new accumulators and new 4th gear auxillary valve body housings from delco so there's no chance of pressure loss for OD.
last but not least we run a really good quality converter. you get what you pay for when it comes to converters.

Approx RPM 2200 at 65 mph, flat ground. It's the VE pump. Has the 3200 rpm spring installed.

I am around Friday. Lemme know!

Cool,

Seth
