Hi ...we have (2) trucks that we have owned for many years with good maintenance. We have replaced starter components in the last 10, 000 miles on both trucks. Recently, one of the trucks with a factory alarm
Seemed to have a weaker ignition switch when turning the ket to the start crank position. Then one day the truck would not activate the starter until several attempts were made. So, I ordered a japanese ignition switch and put it in today and the truck won't spin. All the accessories come on and the alarm is working. Then I put the old switch back in and no crank as well. What did I do ? The alarm turns on and off with remote. Is there a reset of some kind ? The truck started fine for me today before changing the ignition switch. Is there a particular sequence. Was I supposed to put the mechanical key switch into the accessories position first? I could not find a write up in the FAQ or in the factory service manual I have. I don't usually get stumped but this one has got me!
Thanks
Eric.
