Subject: 1993 Toyota Landcruiser
From: Don Boudreau <djbouds@aol.com>

Mr. Bricker, I am not a member of your club but have been a Landcruiser owner for the past 11 years. I have a 1993 Landcruiser that was rolled over last weekend. Thankfully my son walked away unscathed. Unfortunately, our beloved "Beast" did not fare as well. I have the opportunity to purchase the vehicle at salvage value. Is there anyone in your organization that needs a parts vehicle. The wheels and tires are Michelins with low miles. Mechanically the vehicle was sound and all maintenance was done regularly. Please let me know if anyone has any interest. Thank you. Don Boudreau 602.618.0907

Things that make you go... Hmmmm..... :hhmm:

Yeah, wonder what salvage value is?

93=1FZFE

As you can see I have a 60 ... I thought the 80 got the 1FZ-FE in 94 ... My apologies

So now you should be wondering how easy it would be to put the 1FZ into your 60...

Unfortunately, I know it is a nightmare from all the reading I have done. I believe I will leave that alone. Unless, you know something I don't know ....

talked to the owner today. the truck is locked with 208k on the ticker. he's wanting to sell
as a parts truck and not part it out himself. truck was well cared for, serviced regularly and
he has receipts. sounds like he would like to get $2500 or so for it. for what it's worth he
seems like a great guy that would be real easy to deal with...

i'd think Mike would be down to buy it and part it out,,, i'm interested in a few minor parts.
If I had the room, I think I would jump on this. The axles with lockers would probably pay off the cost, and the rest would be pure profit. Alas, Momma says NO! John

I figured from his email he was not looking to part it out hime self. I will give the guy credit for being willing to buy it back so some one can pick it up and part it. Would be easier to just let the insurance company handle it and sell it at auction. Like I said I would be interested in the rear locker.

I have the room just don't have the time. I would just want the rear third, wiring, locker ecm and the switch. I really just need the rear third, the rest doesn't have to be OEM. Around $500 is the going rate for a E-locker third member. It's just a mather if finding one close enough.

IMHO $2500 is a lot to pay for a 200k+ mile rolled vehicle. I'm not knocking the guy if that's what the insurance company wants, but I wouldn't buy it back at that price. More like $500 to a grand.

That is the range I was thinking. Insurance companies do not charge that much for salvage buy back.

i don't know for sure if that's a firm number. he's going to join
mud and post up. i think he would welcome some input on the
price, this is all new to him. i just think he would like the parts
to find their way to some cruiserheads...
