I was sitting here studying up for the radiator job when it struck me that there was nothing holding down the battery. I removed the radiator overflow, battery and the fiberish box that was around it for water/heat protection (I think). But there was nothing actually holding the battery down.
Shouldn't there be two threaded rods that attach below the battery and then some plate between the two rods held down with wing nuts (Chevy Camero 72 had a set up like this) Even my Taco has hold down.
Am I missing some parts?
I did look through the FSM but there seems to be little about the battery, unless I am looking in the wrong section.
Well thanks to everyone who has helped so far, my ride is coming together.

yes there should be 2 "j" hooks and a cross bar with 2 nuts, when I ordered by second battery tray (91/92) from Dan aslo ordered the hold down setup

loquito, yes, as RavenTai mentions you should have the hold down. It's nothing really more than a small piece of angle with j bolts.

Thanks folks
I made the call at 8:30 am exact, And the parts are on there way. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

For the shorter batteries, like the Optima, the stock battery hold-down works better if you put a spacer underneath the battery. You can use a chunk of 1x4 in a pinch. If your battery didn't come with the plastic spacer you can drop in to your local battery place and they will probably have some extras in the back.

.... and lengthen the pos & neg cables....

That is where the Wulf stashes his spare firewood....:D

I used the spacer on my Optima and it all fit with no extensions, etc need for cables or hold downs.
