I have a 1996 Prado VZJ95L that was imported by the previous owner from Dubai to Canada, and as such it is a LHD model. Its time for a new windshield, as the BC winters haven't been kind to my windshield. I contacted a parts importer in BC, who said that he could order a windshield direct from Japan, but it would be for a RHD Prado. He said that he couldn't 100% guarantee the fit, but seemed confident that there wouldn't be an issue, especially with something like the windshield.

Could anyone see any possibility why the RHD glass would not fit the LHD model? I've inspected the glass and IMHO there isn't a reason there would be an issue with fit, however I am interested in getting a second opinion before I place the order.

Dont think there is diff in lhd and rhd , i would first try restoring the original if its stock there r professionals who do it

A rock chip or small crack is something you could restore. In Canada, it's quite common to replace your windshield on a bi-annual basis with some of the rural road conditions in the winter. I have two large cracks running across the entire width of the windshield, not something that would be restorable. My windshield isn't in any condition where it needs to be replaced ASAP, but it would be nice to have some sort of "safety net" glass on hand just in case I need it. As it takes 2-3 months to ship from Japan.
