I've got a tub from a current Aluminum switch over that I thought might be useful to someone before I junk it. It's no prize but I thought one of you might get some use out of it. I live in Southern Pines. Either PM me or I'll respond to the first reply. Only stipulation is you have to pick it up! It's minus the Rollbar, and has been cut away from the cowl....

Michael,

These are all just opinions no substantiated facts.

Pro's -No RUST
Cheaper than a steel tub
Lighter
The quality was amazing in my opinion

Con's -Not easily repairable if body damage is sustained.
You do have to isolate steel from aluminum since they are dissimilar
Weld lines are visible on the outside skin. i.e. where the wheels meet the skin.

Having said that I struggled with the idea of Steel vs. Aluminum.

There is so much bad info out there.
I have a hard time beliving the horror stories about bolts disinegrating. and the rumour about aluminum not being conductive is BS. Aluminum is a great conductor. So you can ground to it. I don't know what else to say. Had I had the money to blow and if I was worried about going stock I would have done steel.

The main two metals used for wire conductors are copper and aluminum. I think it's funny if anyone says Al isn't a good conductor.

I am interested in the tub....let me know if you still have it. Thanks.

Sorry Guy's it's now spoken for.

ok thanks. let me know if it falls through.

Well guys I just cannot find the time to be able to make the 8 hr round trip up to southern pines to get the tub. As much as I want it with a baby and club events I just cannot do it within the next couple of months. So if anyone wants it I am going to retract my dibs. If it is still around when our club goes to URE this Nov -Dec then I will pic it up..

Sorry guys. I just don't want to keep screwing Kelly over.

Guy's right now it looks like erymer is going to be the next winner. I'll keep y'all posted on the outcome!
