I have a 1989 lj 70 sereis 2lt turbo deisel and was wondering if I wanted to switch from deisel to gas.Is there a toyota gas engine that would bolt up to the transmission on this vehicule .Thanks

Theres a 1pz in canada with transmission for sale for cheap in the jdm section. Check it out.

I have a buddy here in Seattle that swapped a 22R-E into his 1989 LJ-73 after the 2L-TE died.

He wants to now swap in the Toyota 3.4L V-6 from a Tacoma p/u!

Did he bolt it right to the existing tranny,that would be sweet ,I love 22re motors(can't kill em).

I used a bell housing from a Turbo 22re 4runner. Bolted right in. Of course everything has to change sides. Does make the exaust easier.
