I have a 1985 FJ60 Toyota Landcruiser and I'm looking to trade for a comparable fj40. I use to have one, sold it and regretted the decision ever since. This rig is in good shape mechanically with, what I would say is 90% rust free body. The engine has 205,000 miles on it but was rebuilt at 190,000. Transmission and transfer case are in good condition. Truck has been lifted with a BDS 3" lift and extended shackles. This lift is not excessive and actually makes the truck look a bit more symmetrical with the body. Tires are new and are size 33x9.50. Frame is solid with some surface rust. the body has some small areas of rust, primarily on the rear fold down gate. The paint is oxidized and honestly needs a new coat. I've been working on cleaning it up with the intention of painting it (several primed spots and faded paint) but haven't had the time. I have the original bumpers, but fabbed my own custom bumpers; the front will accomodate a winch and the rear has a swing out tire carrier with a spot to bolt on a high lift. The interior is original; the carpet has obvious uses of wear and the seats are in relatively good condition. Overall, interior is in good shape. I have also built a custom rear storage box. The original center console has been replaced with a Tuffy (with stereo and cup holders). The drivers door was replaced (due to rust) and is primed. I also replaced a portion of the right rear quarter due to rust, which will require some minor body work and eventual painting. I've taken this rig offroad and it's a respectable adventure rig. The carburetor leaks a little and needs some adjustment but the truck runs well.
Anyway, like I said, I'm looking to trade this rig for an fj40, preferrably newer than 1976, but I'm willing to check anything out if it is comparable to what I've described. I'll be happy to exchange photos via PM. I'm in Seattle.
