FYI for anyone else who was interested in this, I went to look at it today.
Seller was a nice enough guy, apparently handling an estate-ish sale of all the stuff at a cluttered home in rural WV. I would say he tried to give me an honest idea of the truck before I came out, but wasn't very motivated to worry about giving a detailed picture of a vehicle in such bad shape. I had talked him down to 400 by text beforehand, but was clear that I'd have to go and see if there was enough left to save.
It only has 109k miles on it but wow, it's rough even by parts-truck standards. Rust holes in all the usual places and some rather unusual ones. Interior smells like mildew, probably related to busted window, rusted out A pillar, and sheet metal just generally being full of holes. Back carpet is missing, not that you'd have wanted it given the condition of the rest of the interior. Clutch doesn't do anything, truck doesn't roll freely (but then, it's stuck in gear). Brake system is dry, oi. Someone took the cats (and, oddly, everything after them). Downpipe is present but not attached to the exhaust manifold for some reason. Air filter is loosely attached to the carb, looks like someone had wanted to mess with the carb at some point. Battery is gone. Driver's door doesn't want to close very well.
Radio is there, dash pad (intact) is there, I'm guessing the 4 speed has a decent chance of being good since it seems like it was engine problems that originally took the truck off the road. Four factory fj60 wheels with a mishmash of old dead tires (although they do hold air) and some random aftermarket wheel with an ancient ltx on it. Grill looked intact at a brief glance. Keys are present.
We had wanted it for a farm truck, but it's too rough even for that and getting it up to farm-truck standards would cost a lot more than it would be worth afterwards. Oh well, the WV fall foliage was as beautiful as always...
