85 land cruiser complete (for parts)

Complete 85 land cruiser parked 8years ago hasn’t been started since. Body is rough frame is good.

$800. Went to look at it tonight as the owners indicated it was a 5 speed. Unfortunately it was a 4. Body is pretty bad and frame isn’t any good. Drive train was stock and complete. Both washer reservoirs looked to be complete and all smog stuff was in place. Interior was all there but dash had some cracks. Door panels looked good and seats as well though drivers had typical cushion chunks missing. 5 good wheels. Factory roof rack and some sort of ladder rack with legit looking feet. Did have a trailer hitch which was a flat bar bolted in place and a ball sticking out. Did look like a stock piece though.

If this is close to you it’s probably worth the price. It was a split case.

How was the roof, Seth?

The roof seemed pretty good. I ran my fingers down the gutters and cleaned twigs out of them but I didn’t see gaping rust holes. The lower hatch was shot but the upper might have been ok. The top half of the truck looked ok but the bottom half was toast.

Did you get a chance to see how many miles were on the motor?

I looked at the odo and i think it was 179,000. I didn’t try bumping it as it had no battery and the owner didn’t bring the key. The hood and fenders seemed pretty solid and the engine was dirty and had signs of mice but otherwise looked safe from water. Owner said truck hasn’t been used in 8 years but as long as it has oil in it it’s probably ok....not stuck. Bit of course always a risk.

This truck is about 75 miles from me and while its relativelty close its far enough away and it didn't have enough stuff for my use to make me feel overly excited about getting it home. If it were like 10 miles away I'd have grabbed it. I think I probably could have gotten enough bits out of it for my own truck, gotten an extra driveline and axles from it, and probably been able to sell enough pieces to offset most of the purchase price.

Since you talked to the owner how firm is he on the price do you think? I would have to haul it to Florida about $1000

Its not worth paying $1000 to ship to florida.
