On my way into work today my I noticed that my break peddle would only depress about a 1/2 inch and when coasting the truck would slow down faster than usual. I was able to pull over and the front rotors were extremely hot. I parked the vehicle for a while and got back in. When I drove it the rest of the way in the breaks performed as normal. But I just went out to move my truck and they were dragging again. What could the cause of the issue be? The rear drums are not heating up or dragging at all. Just the front discs.

I would start with a bleed of the whole system and see where that gets you.

check the push rod betwixt the MC and the booster- also check push rod betwixt pedal and MC. failing that, have you replaced the rubber lines at the outer ends of the ax? if those lines deteriorate, they can act as check valves...HTH
