84 fj60 with an Isuzu 4BDT2. The fj came from AZ. I did a complete paint on it in 09. I attached a pic of it when I bought it. The 4B has about 4k on it from a complete rebuild this last summer including a new exhaust manifold, head, sleeves, pistons etc. The majority of the parts came from Isuzu. The head and the ARP head studs are the only aftermarket parts. The Isuzu is mated to an NV4500 with an Allamares adapter. I rebuilt the NV4500 with all the parts coming from Midwest Transmission Center in Zumbrota MN. The Isuzu has a turbo off a 4bt hx30w peaking at about 24psi. The injectors and injection pump were also rebuilt. I bought it with no interior in it. All of the interior came out of an 85 fj60. I have homemade diamond plate running boards which are powder coated. I modified the drivers seat brackets to move the seat back 2 in. as I am 6'2" and that made a world of difference. Their is a dvd player mounted on the ceiling for the kids. We took a 2000 mile trip this summer with no problems with it. It has dual red top batteries. With Blue Torch fab works battery boxes. It has an SOA, high steer, rebuilt knuckles, etc in it that I bought all the parts from Proffitts cruisers(excellent stuff and help/advice!!!) This was my daily summer driver. I have put about 60k on it since 09 and 4k since the rebuild. It has 275/60r20 tires and rims.

I only have a universal cone air filter on it. I had wanted to find/build an airbox built. And their are a couple rust bubbles on each quarter. I attached a pic of the drivers side. I thought I had one of the pass side but I'll need to get one.

Nice wheels! I'm currently building the same: 1985 FJ60 SOA 4BD1T NV4500 NP205 (still trying to figure how best to deal with the centered 205 with the offset LC axle).
Question(s): did you have front axle clearance issues (i.e. Front axle pinion flange hitting oil pan with just a small amount of suspension travel )? any issues with shifter to close to the dash? what did your HP come up to with the hx30 (i am going with the HE221 Turbo w an
intercooler) ? what did you use to re-plum the hx30 turbo? Got pics of any/everything? love to know more of how you got to where you're at.

I bought a new oil pan from Isuzu with out the hump off the side. No clearance issues for me. I didn't check the horse power with anything but the feel of the seat and it's a ton more than stock. Even more than the 4bt I had. The he221 and the hx30w are basically the same if I remember correctly?? I had plans to upgrade eventually to a hx30w SUPER!! The hx30w mounts right up to the Isuzu manifold. And I used th intakes off the 4bt to goto the intercooler and the air filter. I can take some pics and post them. I put ARP head studs in so I don't have to worry much anyway.

I couldn't find another oil pan, even from Isuzu, without the hump. how about the shifter into the dash space ? when yo amounted the motor was the bell housing right up against the firewall? was the flange you used for the turbo the T-3 flange? where did you use the ARP studs? thank a ton for the info! any pics would be great.

I don't remember where I found the part number for the oil pan but it came from Isuzu and so did the new exhaust manifold. The exhaust manifold was stock for the motor 95 Isuzu 4BDT2C and the oil pan was for an older one. The Cummins 4BT turbo bolted up to the Isuzu exhaust manifold. And I think you are correct, they are both T3. My shifter on the NV4500 came thru the factory hole in the interior. Kinda tight to the front of the hole, but made it in the same hole none the less. The ARP studs are holding the head down, kinda overkill for the 24psi I have but if I ever wanted more I knew the motor was ready. I can look for pics or take some new ones. What would you like pics of? You can see in the pic above I'm a couple inchs ahead of the firewall.

Truthfully id take pics of anything! motor compartment, turbo, exhaust , interior, NV4500 to tcase... anything! how did you hook up your throttle cable ? cruise control or did you abandon? glow plugs? ignition? do all you gauges work? did you do anything special from the fuel tank to the motor?... man i got questions! thanks a ton!!!

AC is done and blows nice and cold!!!

Has this sold? Do you have a link to your build thread? I'm looking to build one with the same drivetrain setup and am curious about all the steps specific to your build!!

Thanks Stuart

Stuart, Yes it's sold. I didn't do a buildup thread. Ask any questions you have I will answer them. Thanks

Ok so pm'd you, had some technical phone issues with posting prematurely, so please ignore first convo. Fj, if you could please tag coog and dieseltim and anyone else you think relevant. I had done so in my original convo but couldn't in the second.. Thanks and sorry, still a noob to the site.
