craigslist 83 FJ60 KY (not mine)

Just got turned on to Cruisers a month ago and have been considering getting an fj60 for a couple of weeks.

Found this on Craigslist a few hours away: toyota land cruiser fj60
Any thoughts? Anybody know this rig?

Future plans are to replace my wrangler with a 60 and have it as I daily driver and camping rig. Would add bumpers, roof rack, and potentially have a shop do a v8 conversion down the road.

Has some rust, and is a respray so worth checking carefully for more rust that may have just been covered up. Seems in decent condition otherwise, would like to see interior pics but I do t think he's way out of line on price if it's all in pretty good shape.

Would be interested in who did the repairs and with what brand parts if it was me. OEM being the obvious best case there.

No way he's getting 20-22 mpg.

If he is saying 20mpg he is either dishonest or dumb, I generally try to avoid both when possible

Resprayed with significant rust showing. I'm not a purist, but I'm not a fan of painting any car a different color other than original - unless it was completely stripped to just the body and painted by a professional. But they wouldn't have done that and not taken care of the rust. I'd call it a $3,000 rig.
